Rapper Erigga speaks on growing up in a polygamous home

Nigerian rapper Erigga has opened up about his childhood experience in a polygamous family, saying the system mostly hurts women and children.

Speaking during an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the rapper said he dislikes polygamy because of what he witnessed while growing up.

“I’m trying not to be like my father. I don’t like polygamy. One person always gets hurt, and it’s usually the woman. There’s never a polygamous situation where the man suffers — it’s always the women and the kids,” Erigga said.

He advised men to stick to one partner, describing monogamy as a more peaceful and fair way to build a family.
