Marcus Rashford has scored his first goal for Barcelona, helping the Spanish club beat South Korean side Daegu 5-0 in a pre-season friendly on Monday.
The England forward, who joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United two weeks ago, found the net with a calm first-time finish in the second half. He was set up by Eric Garcia, who passed the ball across the box for Rashford to place it into the bottom corner.
This is Rashford’s third appearance for his new team. He made his debut in a 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe and later gave an assist in a 7-3 victory against Seoul.
Other scorers in the Daegu match included Gavi, who grabbed two goals, along with Robert Lewandowski and Toni Fernandez.
Rashford kept his celebration low key but looked sharp on the field. He has impressed fans and coaches during pre-season with his energy and link-up play.
At his unveiling, Rashford said he was thrilled to be at Barcelona, calling it a dream come true.
“I’m very excited. This club has always meant a lot to me,” he said. “It’s a place where you can grow, and I feel at home already. I’m looking forward to giving my best and helping the team win.”
Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford permanently for £30.3 million at the end of the season.
