Latin music rising star and social media influencer DELAROSA has been shot dead in an ambush attack in Los Angeles. Two other people were also critically injured.
The shooting happened in Northridge, San Fernando Valley, just before 1:30am on Saturday.
Police confirmed on Monday that the victim was 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, known professionally as DELAROSA. Investigators say the attackers walked up to a parked car on Bryant Street and opened fire on the three people inside.
According to the LAPD, witnesses saw two men approach the vehicle before several shots were fired. All three occupants were hit.
DELAROSA was taken to a hospital by people at the scene, but she did not survive. The two others remain in critical condition.
Detectives say the attack may be gang-related, but no arrests have been made and no motive has been confirmed.
DELAROSA had been gaining attention in the Latin music scene and released her single “No Me Llames” in August. She had more than 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Police are still investigating the shooting.
