senator Ned Nwoko has spoken out on the arrest of Ann, best friend of his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, accusing her of actions that allegedly led to the loss of his unborn child.
Nwoko confirmed in a statement shared on his Instagram page that Ann was arrested over criminal defamation, following claims she allegedly made accusing him of physically assaulting his former wife, Laila, an allegation he denied.
According to Nwoko, the accusation was false and malicious. He further alleged that Ann was responsible for carrying out an illegal abortion for Regina Daniels while they were still married.
The politician claimed the act led to the termination of his unborn child, insisting that it was done without his knowledge or consent.
He dismissed claims of domestic violence, stating that no incident involving Laila or any miscarriage linked to him ever occurred.
Nwoko urged members of the public to read his full statement, maintaining that his actions were driven by the need to confront what he described as serious falsehoods and criminal conduct.
The controversy follows the October announcement by Regina Daniels that her marriage to Nwoko had ended, citing alleged domestic violence.
In response at the time, Nwoko released a counter-statement, attributing the collapse of the marriage to what he described as Regina’s struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, a claim she has denied.
He further alleged that his attempts to get her professional help were rejected, and that her decision to leave his home escalated tensions involving her family members.
Regina Daniels, on her part, has issued strong warnings to Nwoko, threatening to expose what she described as alleged crimes, including land grabbing and fraud. She also accused him of introducing her to drugs during their marriage.
In a later statement, Nwoko said he has no intention of reconciling with the actress, insisting that his only concern is that she seeks therapy, while maintaining that her public claims against him are untrue.
