Hollywood film Sinners has set a new record at the Academy Awards after securing 16 nominations ahead of the forthcoming Oscars ceremony.
The Ryan Coogler–produced and directed movie surpassed the long-standing record of 14 nominations previously held by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land.
Sinners, a 2025 American horror film, stars Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, Miles Caton and Hailee Steinfeld.
Michael B. Jordan, who played dual roles as characters named Smoke and Stack, earned a Best Actor nomination for his performance.
The film’s multiple nominations place it ahead of other strong contenders such as One Battle After Another, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value, which also received several nods.
The record-breaking feat further cements Sinners as one of the most talked-about films of the awards season.
