Afrobeats star Skales has finally responded to widespread criticism over his recent church testimony at Harvesters Church, where he shared how his career was reignited after Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal went viral dancing to his classic hit “Shake Body.”

In a measured response on X, Skales admitted his initial reaction to the online backlash may have been too quick but used the opportunity to clarify his stance with calm and conviction. He stressed that testifying about God’s work in your life even outside the pulpit is valid and meaningful, and that every believer, from musicians to teachers, serves God through their calling.

The singer cited 1 Corinthians 12:28, emphasizing that believers don’t need to be in the pulpit to testify about their faith and that sharing personal spiritual experiences shouldn’t be seen as wrong.

Skales’ statement follows criticism from figures like Apostle Harrison Anyintete, who argued that his testimony didn’t promote spiritual maturity and should not have been spotlighted by the church. The minister expressed concerns about the message such a testimony sends to younger Christians.
