Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop has publicly accused gospel singer Mercy Chinwo of being involved in the arrest of social media critic VeryDarkMan. In a recent Instagram post, Ontop claimed that after he reached out to Chinwo via Instagram to inquire about her alleged role in the arrest, she blocked him—a move he interpreted as suspicious. He stated, “Mercy Chinwo blocked me on IG last night because I told her and her husband to free VDM. It’s laughable how a minister of God would just block me for saying the truth.”

The arrest of VeryDarkMan has stirred online controversy, with authorities yet to disclose full details behind his detention. The incident comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between Chinwo and VeryDarkMan, stemming from comments he made regarding her previous conflict with her former record label boss, Eezee Tee.

Ontop emphasized that silencing critics through force is unacceptable in a democratic society and called for the immediate release of VeryDarkMan. The accusations have ignited heated debates online, with fans and critics alike weighing in on the growing saga.
