Nottingham Forest have appointed former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to replace Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked after the 3-0 loss to West Ham on Monday.
Nuno’s dismissal ends his 21-month spell in charge, despite leading Forest to seventh place last season, their best finish in 30 years.
Postecoglou, 60, was spotted at the club’s training ground on Tuesday and is expected to be confirmed before Forest face Arsenal this weekend.
The Australian had mixed fortunes at Spurs, finishing 17th in the league last season but delivering a Europa League title the club’s first major trophy in 17 years.
Forest sit 10th after three games, but owner Evangelos Marinakis has already made eight managerial changes since taking over in 2017.
Players were shocked by Nuno’s exit, with many learning of the decision while away on international duty. Postecoglou is now tasked with keeping Forest competitive in the Premier League.
