The Super Falcons of Nigeria earned a solid 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a friendly match played on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.
Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade put Nigeria ahead in the 19th minute with a penalty, after she was fouled inside the box by a Cameroonian defender.
Ajibade struck again in the 43rd minute, finishing off a smart cross from Babajide Omorinsola to give Nigeria a two-goal lead before halftime.
Despite a stronger effort from Cameroon in the second half, Nigeria’s defence—led by Payne Antionette and Isah Sikiratu—stood strong and kept a clean sheet.
The Super Falcons now look ahead to future matches as they continue preparations for upcoming tournaments.
