Nigeria’s Super Falcons will battle host nation Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final after defeating South Africa 2-1 in a semi-final clash.

Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoring for Nigeria from the penalty spot just before halftime after a handball by Bambanani Mbane.

South Africa equalised in the 60th minute when Hildah Magaia converted a penalty after being fouled by Osinachi Ohale.

With the game heading for extra time, Michelle Alozie struck a stunning long-range goal deep into stoppage time to secure victory for Nigeria.

In the other semi-final, Morocco beat Ghana 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Rabat. Stella Nyamekye and Sakina Ouzraoui scored in regular time for Ghana and Morocco, respectively, before the hosts triumphed in the shootout.

Nigeria will now aim for a record-extending 10th WAFCON title when they face Morocco in the final.
