Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola has opened up on the personal and financial losses she suffered for supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

Speaking on Behind The Fame TV, Daramola said her decision cost her two brand ambassadorship deals worth a total of ₦25 million. She explained that one deal was worth ₦10 million while the other was worth ₦15 million, but both were cancelled because of backlash from supporters of Peter Obi, popularly known as the Obidient movement.

“I know what I lost without collecting a kobo. I lost two ambassadorship deals… I almost lost my marriage. But at the end of the day, I voted my conscience and my choice,” she said.

Daramola, who served as media assistant for the Performing Arts Directorate of Tinubu’s campaign council in Lagos, described the president as a father figure. According to her, Tinubu had always shown her support, including during her wedding, and she felt loyal to him.

Despite losing millions and facing strain in her marriage, the actress said she has no regrets about her decision, insisting that her support for Tinubu came from the heart.

9jaonline Magazine recalls in 2022, Foluke Daramola declared her support for Tinubu, even though her husband, Kayode Salako, openly supported Labour Party candidate Peter Obi at the time.
