Nigerian singer Tems has equalled the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a Nigerian artiste, tying with Afro-fusion star Burna Boy.
The Grammy-winning artiste secured her seventh entry this week as her single, What You Need, debuted at number 93 on the US chart.
Tems’ previous Billboard Hot 100 entries include:
- Wait For U (with Future & Drake)
- Essence (Remix) (with Wizkid & Justin Bieber)
- Fountains (with Drake)
- Move (featuring Grace Jones)
- Free Mind
- Raindance
With this achievement, Tems also becomes the first Nigerian female artiste to amass seven entries on the Hot 100.
The current leaderboard for Nigerian acts on the Billboard Hot 100 now stands as:
- Tems – 7 entries
- Burna Boy – 7 entries
- Wizkid – 5 entries
- Rema – 2 entries
