During a recent appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast with Adesope Olajide, Nigerian rap icon Olamide Baddo opened up about his bond with fellow stars Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, calling them “troublesome friends.”
He clarified that by “troublesome,” he doesn’t mean anything negative in a hostile way rather, he feels that sometimes their personalities, schedules, or perspectives don’t fully align. Despite the occasional friction, he made it clear that there’s respect, warmth, and genuine friendship.
On the podcast, Olamide also shared some behind-the-scenes about his collaboration with Wizkid on the hit track Kia. He said the idea was spontaneous: while on set for the Kia video, he played Wizkid some unreleased songs from his album; Wizkid liked Billionaire’s Club so much he asked to jump in.
Olamide rounded off by reflecting on his larger journey in music more than a decade of hustling, building up other artists, and staying grounded. He emphasized that success, faith, and consistency matter most.
