American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially begun serving his 50-month prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix, a low-security facility located within a military base in New Jersey — days after a reported knife attack inside his former cell.

Sources told People that Diddy was moved early Thursday, October 30, following a frightening incident at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where an inmate allegedly broke into his cell armed with a shiv.

“He woke up with a knife to his throat,” close associate Charlucci Finney told Daily Mail, describing it as “a warning” rather than an attempt to kill him.

Diddy’s lawyers had reportedly requested the transfer, citing serious concerns for his safety and the poor conditions at MDC. The Fort Dix facility, where he will now serve the remainder of his term, is known for its rehabilitation programs and easier family access.

The 55-year-old rapper and entrepreneur was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and sentenced on October 3 to 50 months in prison. He will receive credit for time already served since his arrest in September 2024 and could qualify for early release with good behaviour.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, his projected release date is May 8, 2028.

The move marks a dramatic turn in the unfolding saga of the Bad Boy Records founder, whose legal troubles and prison experiences continue to dominate headlines across America.
