…says wife has nothing incriminating against him
Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken out about the controversy surrounding his troubled marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, saying his wife “has nothing incriminating” against him despite the stories flying around on social media.
In a statement released by his team in Abuja on Monday, the Delta North Senator dismissed the allegations against him as false, malicious, and politically motivated, claiming some people are using Regina’s name to ruin his reputation.
“Beyond this, the talk about me grabbing land in my hometown is false and unfortunate,” Nwoko said.
“I was allocated a piece of land to build the University of Sports — a project that exists today and benefits my community.”
Nwoko alleged that some people have been taking advantage of Regina’s current situation to defame him, warning that those behind the false stories would face legal action soon.
“If by now she has not brought up any credible allegation against me, it means there’s nothing illegal about me — except that I want her to get help and focus on rehabilitation,” he said.
The lawmaker also alleged that Regina had a history of substance use, which, according to him, her medical records and former schoolmates could verify.
“Her medical records are verifiable. She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication,” he claimed. “If she had any secret to reveal, she would have done so. She has nothing.”
Nwoko further clarified that Regina was 19 years old — not 17 — when they got married.
“Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, it means she got married at 19, not 17,” he explained.
He said their marriage followed all traditional customs and insisted it was “honourable and transparent.”
“I married her properly, gave her a name, and treated her with dignity,” Nwoko said. “It is painful to see my family dragged into lies. Regina has become the weak point through which my political and personal enemies attack me. This is a witch-hunt to destroy my name.”
