Gospel artist Tim Godfrey is pushing back at criticism after collaborating with Nigerian singer Oxlade on his new track Infinity. Critics accused Tim of stepping outside gospel values by working with an artist previously involved in controversy.

In a heartfelt open letter titled “To the Labeled,” Tim addressed those who feel judged or rejected by religious communities. He shared that he, too, has been called “worldly,” “rebellious,” and “unspiritual” and he reminded his audience that Jesus “sat with the broken, touched the untouchable, and called the forgotten family.”

Looking ahead, Tim announced his upcoming project No Label (due 31 October 2025), describing it as more than an album  a movement aimed at everyone who’s been boxed, branded, or broken. He emphasised that faith shouldn’t be defined by image or reputation: “Jesus didn’t come for the perfect. He came for the real.”
