Tiwa Savage launches music foundation

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, selecting 100 young talents for specialized training. The foundation aims to develop young music talents and strengthen infrastructure within Nigeria’s creative industry.

The launch event, held Monday evening at The Delborough Lagos, attracted celebrities, industry stakeholders, and government officials. Notable guests included Don Jazzy, Mo Abudu, Johnny Drille, Cobhams Asuquo, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and others.

Savage stated the foundation was created to address critical gaps in education and infrastructure within Nigeria’s music industry. The program will cover film scoring, music publishing, music therapy, production, and sound engineering. The 100 selected participants will undergo a four-day intensive program in partnership with Berklee College of Music.

Savage emphasized the importance of government support and encouraged young creatives to utilize the opportunity wisely.

Governor Sanwo-Olu attended the event to support Savage, while Pastor Bolaji Idowu expressed optimism for the foundation's impact. Johnny Drille and Mo Abudu also shared their support, highlighting Savage's contributions to the Nigerian music scene and the potential of the initiative to nurture emerging talents.

The foundation aims to provide education, mentorship, and international exposure for young creatives seeking careers across various aspects of the music industry.
