Media personality Toke Makinwa has announced that she is expecting her first child. She shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, describing the pregnancy as “the biggest project of my life, the highest calling ever.”
In her post, Makinwa thanked God for the blessing, saying, “You opened this door that nobody can shut… My season is here. I’ve worn so many hats over the years but this one trumps it all, and I’m so humbled to have been chosen.”
The announcement follows a year of personal reflections. In March, she told fans on her YouTube show Toke Moments that she had embraced being single and childless at 40. “Regret is so exhausting… Now you know better, so do better. Move on,” she said.
In April, on her podcast, she also spoke about her openness to marriage, saying, “At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to be the second, third, fourth, or fifth wife, I will take it.” She explained, “I am the boss everywhere and that could be tiring. You feel like you need someone to lean on—someone that could decide what’s for dinner. Must it be me?”
Fans and fellow celebrities congratulated Makinwa on social media following her announcement. She did not reveal the expected due date or gender of her baby.
