Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that he received an official invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The development stems from a formal complaint submitted to the anti-graft agency by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners.
The petition demands a holistic, top-to-bottom probe into the financial activities, sponsorship arrangements, and funding channels of both VeryDarkMan and prominent activist-lawyer Deji Adeyanju.
“They want to stop us from speaking against this evil government that has failed to protect the lives of Nigerians. So, they used their people to write petitions.”VeryDarkMan said.
Allegations of political interference to suppress public outcry
Reacting to the investigation through his social media page, VeryDarkMan fiercely defended his platform, stating that the probe is a calculated attempt to silence dissenting voices across the country. The controversial commentator further alleged that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are deliberately using legal channels to initiate the inquiry.
According to the activist, the primary objective of the petition is to suppress ongoing public criticism regarding the current administration’s shortcomings and governance failures. Despite the pressure, VeryDarkMan used his Instagram page to signal that the move is an underhanded tactic to deflect from state responsibilities, particularly the government’s failure to protect Nigerian lives.
