The Mavin magic is about to get a little bigger. Music executive Don Jazzy has teased that a fresh face is about to join the label’s star-studded roster.
In a short clip posted on his official X page Thursday, Don Jazzy kept it casual but teasing: “Let me not take too much of your time. Tonight, at 12 midnight, I will be activating a new new Mavin for you guys.” And because you can’t have Don Jazzy without a bit of humor, he added, “It’s been a while, someone was asking me yesterday and I said ahh, this person is monitoring me o. Anyway, a new Mavin will be activated tonight.”
Mavin Records needs no introduction. Home to Rema, Ayra Starr, and a lineup that has produced Reekado Banks, Tiwa Savage, and Wande Coal, the label has been the launchpad for some of Nigeria’s biggest hits.
Now, the question on everyone’s lips: Who’s the next Mavin to carry that torch? Fans are counting down the hours, waiting for midnight to spill the beans on the next chart-topper-in-the-making.
