Nollywood actresses Wumi Toriola and Seyi Edun have reconciled after a dispute that kept them apart for about five years.

Their reconciliation became public after Edun celebrated Toriola’s birthday with an Instagram message reflecting on their friendship.

Edun said they had chosen growth, understanding and a fresh start after years of separation.

“They say time and distance can test a friendship, but they can also prove how deep the roots go,” she wrote.

“Reconnecting with you has been one of the highlights of my year, and it reminded me of the beautiful bond we have always had.”

Edun added that their reconciliation had shown her the importance of their friendship.

“I’m so glad we chose growth, understanding and a fresh start,” she said.

Toriola confirms reconciliation

Responding in the comment section, Toriola said she had missed their friendship and expressed gratitude for their reconciliation.

“Ashabi, I genuinely miss us. Love you so much, dear friend, and thanks for the huge gift,” she wrote.

“I’m grateful we came back to our senses. Love you.”

The disagreement between the former close friends reportedly began in October 2020 after Edun did not publicly celebrate the first birthday of Toriola’s son, Zion.

She was also reportedly absent from the birthday celebration despite her friendship with Toriola at the time.

The situation later resulted in a public exchange during which Toriola made remarks about Edun’s fertility.

Their disagreement continued into June 2021 when Toriola did not publicly celebrate Edun’s birthday.

The actresses have now confirmed that they have resolved their differences and renewed their friendship.
