A fresh study has stirred up new drama in the Premier League title race and Liverpool are leading the pack.

According to new data from the CIES Football Observatory, the Reds hold a 28.9% chance of being crowned champions again under Arne Slot, who stormed to glory in his debut season last year.

Arsenal come next with an 18.8% chance, Chelsea sit third on 16.2%, while Manchester City — 10-time winners and serial champions under Pep Guardiola — surprisingly rank only fourth at 14.4%.

Manchester United’s woes also showed in the numbers, with the Red Devils given a slim 2.6% chance of ending their title drought since 2013.

Across Europe, the same study placed Real Madrid (40.6%) as La Liga favourites ahead of Barcelona (29.6%), Bayern Munich (61.4%) for the Bundesliga, and PSG (73.0%) for yet another Ligue 1 stroll. In Italy, Inter Milan (25.6%) edge out Juventus (18.2%) and Napoli (17.4%).

The most staggering prediction, however, came from Serbia, where Red Star Belgrade were rated 76.2% likely to retain their domestic crown — the strongest certainty across all 29 leagues surveyed.
