The long-standing tension between Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemates Thelma Lawson and Rooboy reached a boiling point during the final episode of the reunion show on Friday night. Setting the record straight on why she shot down Rooboy’s romantic advances during their time in the house last year, Thelma revealed that her decision was entirely rooted in her responsibilities as a mother.
Thelma explicitly stated that Rooboy’s public persona, loud demeanor, and heavily tattooed aesthetic made him completely unsuitable to be around her young son. She made it clear that his career path and lifestyle as a nightlife hypeman did not align with the type of positive role model she intends to bring into her child’s life.
“Rooboy could not even spell correctly. I do not want him around my son. He is too loud and his tattoo are not the lifestyle that I want. We can be friends, just friends ” said Thelma Lawson.

According to Thelma, the fallout from the rejection grew toxic outside the house, claiming that an aggrieved Rooboy began smearing her name by publicly labeling her a “bitter person”.
Rooboy quickly defended himself on the reunion stage. While he openly admitted to pursuing Thelma during the season, the hypeman firmly denied being upset about getting rejected. Instead, he shifted the blame toward a hidden love triangle in the house, accusing fellow housemate Otega of severe betrayal.
