‘You did nothing at Man Utd’ — Ex-defender Paul Parker tears into Marcus Rashford

Former Manchester United defender, Paul Parker, has launched a blistering attack on England forward Marcus Rashford, accusing him of being “lazy” and failing to live up to expectations during his time at Old Trafford.

Rashford, now rediscovering form at Barcelona, was part of the so-called ‘Bomb Squad’ under then-manager Ruben Amorim — a group of players reportedly deemed surplus to requirements after underwhelming performances. The 27-year-old was sent out on loan to Aston Villa before sealing a move to the Spanish giants.

Since joining Barcelona, Rashford has enjoyed a resurgence, netting five goals and providing five assists in 12 appearances. His latest came in style — a brace during Barca’s 6-1 demolition of 10-man Olympiakos in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

But Parker, speaking in an interview with a betting site, dismissed Rashford’s claims that he “gave his best” for Manchester United, insisting the forward’s lack of effort betrayed his teammates.

“He was lazy; he didn’t do anything,” Parker fumed. “If you can’t give everything for your boyhood club, that says a lot about you. The question is — would anyone in the UK want him as a teammate? The answer is no one.”

The former defender added that Rashford’s intensity at Barcelona — playing as though it were “life and death” — should have been evident at United long ago.

“If you’re willing to let down the team you’ve been part of since childhood, then you’ve already shown everyone the kind of professional you are,” Parker said.

Rashford’s time at United remains a divisive topic among fans, with many still debating whether his talent ever matched his output at Old Trafford.
