Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has publicly fired back at claims made by Emmanuel Obasi, the ex-husband of his partner Judy Austin, who alleged that Edochie has been actively preventing him from seeing his children. The high-profile actor broke his silence on the matter via his social media handles on Friday, addressing the wave of concerns raised by his followers.

Edochie explained that several of his fans had reached out to him directly, pleading with him to allow Obasi access to the children. Strongly denying the accusations, the actor maintained that he has never restricted anyone from seeing their biological children, labeling the entire dispute a calculated attempt to exploit his fame for digital attention.

“In this era of social media, people prefer chasing clout and chasing social media money with my name, rather than doing the right thing. Tell him to call his ex-wife, if he wants to see or take his children, let them discuss it. He has her number. It has nothing to do with me.” Yul Edochie said.

Edochie expressed frustration over how his name is routinely dragged into external personal disputes, suggesting that Obasi is weaponizing the narrative online for financial or social media gain rather than taking proper, private steps to resolve the family issue.

By directing Obasi to call Judy Austin directly, Edochie firmly washed his hands of the custody drama. He emphasized that since Obasi possesses his ex-wife’s phone number, any arrangements regarding the children should be negotiated strictly between the two parents, concluding that the situation has absolutely nothing to do with him.
