Zootopia 2 has officially made Hollywood history after becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time, according to reports.
The animated sequel, which premiered in November 2025, has now pulled in over $1.7 billion (£1.3 billion) globally at the box office. With this massive achievement, the movie has surpassed the previous record holder, Inside Out 2, which earned $1.69 billion worldwide after its release in 2024.
Reacting to the milestone, Disney Entertainment Chairman Alan Bergman credited the film’s success to the fans, noting that their support made the moment possible.
The record-breaking performance has sparked excitement among movie lovers, proving that Zootopia’s characters and storyline still have strong global appeal nearly a decade after the first film’s success.
With this new title under its belt, Zootopia 2 has cemented itself as one of the biggest animated movie successes in cinema history.
