Israel Adesanya, a two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, will headline the first UFC event in Saudi Arabia, set for February 2025.

Adesanya will face France’s Nassourdine Imavov in a non-title bout as part of the Riyadh Season sports program. This marks Adesanya’s return to the octagon after his submission loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in August 2024.

Despite the defeat, Adesanya remains one of the biggest names in the UFC. With a 24-4 record and 16 knockout victories, the 35-year-old is known for his striking skills and unique fighting style. The February fight will be his first non-title appearance since defeating Anderson Silva in February 2019.

A win could put Adesanya back in contention for a historic third reign as middleweight champion, possibly setting up rematches against Sean Strickland or du Plessis.

His opponent, Imavov, is a rising star in the middleweight division. The fight promises an exciting clash of styles, with both fighters aiming to impress on a global stage.

This event marks UFC’s debut in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the country’s growing presence in international sports. For Adesanya, it is another chance to add to his legacy as one of the sport’s greatest.
