Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Chibunna Stanley, widely known as Funnybone, has opened up about his decision to shield his wife and children from the public eye.
Speaking during a recent guest appearance on The Moraya Show, the entertainer confirmed his marital status and revealed for the first time that he is a father of two. When questioned by the host about why he chooses not to flaunt his family online like many of his industry peers, the stand-up star emphasized the need to maintain a strict boundary between his public persona and his domestic life.
“In a world where people are just there to look at what is not looking at them, it is safer for you to keep your personal life private. Outside and on the stage, I am Funnybone, but at home, I am Chibunna.” Funnybone said.
Strategic shift needed to export Nigerian comedy globally
Beyond his personal life, the actor shared his vision for the future of the Nigerian comedy landscape over the next decade. He expressed a strong desire to see local comedic talent break into larger international markets on a more consistent basis.
To achieve true global export, Funnybone argued that the entire industry framework requires a modern overhaul. He stressed that Nigerian comedians and stakeholders must urgently evolve their current approach to production, packaging, and digital marketing to compete effectively on the world stage.
