DiddySean “Diddy” Combs’ projected federal prison release date has been brought forward for the third time.
Records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons showed on Wednesday that the 56-year-old music executive is now eligible for release on 24 January 2028.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, New Jersey.
His release was initially scheduled for 4 June 2028. It was subsequently moved to 25 April and then 23 February before the latest adjustment.
The new date is 132 days earlier than the original June release date.
“At this point we do not have the necessary information to respond with any clarity,” Combs’ spokesperson said when asked about the change.
What is known about the revised date
No official explanation has been given for the latest adjustment.
Combs is participating in Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Programme, a cognitive behavioural therapy programme available at selected federal facilities.
Inmates who successfully meet its requirements may qualify for up to one year off their prison terms. However, neither prison officials nor Combs’ representatives have said that his participation caused the latest change.
The adjustment follows reports that Combs was involved in an alleged altercation with another inmate. Prison officers reportedly intervened before he was moved to solitary confinement.
His spokesperson has not publicly addressed the alleged confrontation.
FCI Fort Dix also declined to confirm whether Combs had been placed in solitary confinement, saying it could not disclose internal information concerning individual inmates.
Combs was arrested in 2024 on sex-trafficking, racketeering and prostitution-related charges, all of which he initially denied.
Following his trial in 2025, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of the more serious sex-trafficking and racketeering charges.
In a letter submitted before his sentencing, Combs admitted that he had “lost his way” in “drugs and excess.”
