Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has expressed concern for the club’s staff following the sudden departure of Sir Alex Ferguson as global ambassador.
Ferguson, who managed the team from 1986 to 2013, was let go by part-owner Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group as part of cost-cutting measures.
Ferdinand, who played under Ferguson for 11 years, took to social media to voice his discontent. “If Sir Alex can be removed, no one is safe,” he tweeted.
Ratcliffe’s 25% stake acquisition has led to significant changes at Manchester United. Ferdinand’s warning suggests further upheaval may be imminent.
Ferguson’s departure marks a significant shift for the club, sparking uncertainty among staff and fans.
