Galatasaray have rejected a massive €125 million offer for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, insisting the Nigerian forward is not for sale below their valuation.
The Turkish champions’ decision underlines their determination to keep Osimhen despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Galatasaray Stand Firm
According to reports credited to Forza Cimbom, the €125 million proposal was swiftly turned down by Galatasaray, who are unwilling to lose their star striker after his explosive impact in Istanbul.
The latest rejection comes after the club reportedly rebuffed an earlier €120 million offer from Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all said to be monitoring the 27-year-old, but Galatasaray have made it clear that only an extraordinary offer will force them to reconsider their position.
Osimhen’s Stunning Numbers
Galatasaray believe their valuation is justified by Osimhen’s remarkable form since joining the club from Napoli.
The Super Eagles striker has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for the Turkish giants, making him one of the most productive forwards in Europe.
This season alone, Osimhen has netted 15 league goals and provided five assists in 22 matches. He also impressed in the UEFA Champions League, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in 10 appearances before Galatasaray were knocked out by Liverpool in the round of 16.
Icardi Exit Strengthens Club’s Resolve
Galatasaray’s reluctance to sell Osimhen has also been strengthened by the expected departure of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.
Icardi’s contract is due to expire at the end of June, and losing both forwards in the same transfer window would leave the Istanbul club short of attacking options.
With Galatasaray aiming to retain their domestic dominance and make a stronger push in Europe next season, club officials see Osimhen as central to their plans.
Captaincy And No. 9 Jersey On The Table
As part of their strategy to keep him, Galatasaray are reportedly prepared to offer Osimhen the captain’s armband and the iconic No. 9 jersey, currently worn by Icardi.
The club believe such gestures could give the Nigerian striker a deeper sense of identity and leadership within the team.
Officials also feel Osimhen may not immediately enjoy the same symbolic status at clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea, where dressing-room hierarchies are already established.
Osimhen’s Future Still Uncertain
Osimhen has spoken positively about life in Istanbul and has expressed affection for Galatasaray, but interest from Europe’s elite clubs means speculation over his future is unlikely to fade soon.
For now, Galatasaray’s message is clear: Osimhen remains central to their project, and any club hoping to prise him away must be ready to meet their full asking price.
