Social media creator Peller has drawn attention to the stark hunger crisis in Nigeria after witnessing how far people will go just for a taste of good jollof rice. In a video posted on X, he describes how his friend, Taiwo, traveled all the way from Ikorodu to Lagos Island just to attend Hilda Baci’s jollof cooking event.
Peller says the event was eye-opening, making him realise just how many Nigerians are going through tough times. He said, “I swear to God… I don’t know how his life take reach like that.”
The event itself where Hilda Baci cooked what was reportedly the world’s largest pot of jollof rice drew massive crowds showing support and excitement. But also, it laid bare the deep hunger many are facing.
