Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Saheed Balogun has revealed how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, intervened following a serious accident that left him in critical condition.
Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Balogun recounted how the couple promptly stepped in and insisted that he be flown abroad for proper medical care.
“I was well treated in Nigeria, but President Tinubu and his wife stepped in and asked that I be taken abroad for treatment. I was deeply touched,” he said.
The actor explained that he later received adequate care in Nigeria, but remained profoundly moved by the First Lady’s personal concern. Surprised by their gesture, he asked Oluremi Tinubu why she went to such lengths on his behalf.
“She said, ‘You are a star of God, and they must not let your light dim.’ From her, I learnt that if you take care of someone else’s child, God will take care of yours,” Balogun recalled.
He described the experience as transformative, noting that it reshaped his perspective on kindness and compassion. “It taught me the importance of caring for others,” he added.
