Fashion mogul and reality-TV star Kimora Lee Simmons is opening up about her expanding family and this time, it includes the twin daughters of embattled music legend Sean “Diddy” Combs. During a recent appearance on “Today With Jenna & Friends,” Kimora revealed she now considers herself a “surrogate mom” to Diddy’s 18-year-old daughters, D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs, whose mother Kim Porter died in 2018.
The 50-year-old star laughed off the gravity of it all, saying, “I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” adding the twins and some of Porter’s other children are comfortably part of her extended household.
Kimora insists the arrangement isn’t about replacing anyone, but giving the kids love and stability in a “village of women” supported by godmothers, aunties and friends.
With Diddy currently facing legal troubles, and with the girls in their late teens, Kimora’s maternal role seems more significant than ever proving that sometimes, family is what you choose, not just what you’re born into
