Rapper-turned-industry guru M.I Abaga just shook off the scene’s takeover by Gen Z MCs with a cold, confident flex. In a recent chat with Jay On Air, M.I showered praise on young rap stars like Odumodublvck, Shallipopi, Ladipoe, Falz and Blaqbonez, calling their hustle “inspiring” but made one thing crystal clear: he refuses to feel intimidated.
He put his ego on the line by saying what really matters is studio output, not chart hype:
“If you and I were in the studio, am I with someone who can outrap me?”
M.I also pointed out the difference between legacy and stardom: “I’m not Davido, I’m not Wizkid they’re in their prime,” he said. Yet he made it clear that skills, not age, define respect in hip‑hop.
