Johnson Wen, 26, posted on Instagram that security “kicked [him] out” of Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night before the show even began.

Wen, who has a record of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, was sentenced to nine days in jail in Singapore last month after grabbing Grande during the Asian premiere of Wicked: For Good. He promised the court he would not repeat such behaviour.

Although he did not cause any trouble at the Brisbane venue, he was removed because of his past actions. Videos on social media showed security officers holding him by the arm and escorting him out as some fans cheered and others booed.

Suncorp Stadium told the Sydney Morning Herald that it had been alerted that a “known serial offender” might try to attend and disrupt Lady Gaga’s Mayhem World Tour stop. “In the interest of the artist’s safety, this individual was deemed a person of interest and not allowed to attend,” the venue said.

Wen was banned from Singapore after the incident involving Grande. His social media pages also show videos of him jumping on stage or interrupting shows by stars including Katy Perry and The Weeknd.

The Ariana Grande incident sparked anger online, with some fans accusing Wen of adding to the singer’s trauma. Grande has previously spoken about struggling with PTSD after the 2017 bombing at her Manchester concert, which killed 22 people and injured many others
