An Ikorodu High Court in Lagos has ordered three separate DNA tests to be conducted abroad to determine the paternity of Liam, the son of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The order followed the ongoing dispute between Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, and the singer’s widow, Wunmi, over the child’s paternity.
At the resumed hearing, the court directed both parties to submit names of three foreign medical laboratories capable of carrying out tissue-based DNA tests.
The court will select one laboratory from each party’s recommendation and add a third independent centre, making it three tests in total.
Joseph Aloba has maintained that his son will not be buried until the paternity of Liam is confirmed through DNA testing.
Mohbad died on September 27, 2023, in a case that generated nationwide controversy, with family disputes over his estate and personal matters still ongoing.
The case was adjourned to February 10 for further hearing.
