The Super Eagles of Nigeria remain 39th in the latest FIFA world rankings.
This follows their recent performances in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they defeated Benin Republic 3-0 and drew 0-0 with Rwanda in Kigali.
Despite these results, Nigeria kept their place among the top 40 football nations globally. In Africa, they are the sixth best, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, and Tunisia.
Rival teams Ghana and South Africa are ranked 70th and 59th respectively.
Nigeria is currently looking for a new head coach as they prepare for the next round of AFCON qualifiers next month, where they will face Libya in a Group D match. The Super Eagles are leading their group with four points from two games.
