Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has asserted that no female actor in the industry can afford a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) solely from acting income. Speaking on the _Honest Bunch_ podcast, Solade explained that the Nigerian film industry does not provide enough financial returns to support such extravagant purchases.
Solade argued that while producing films might generate such earnings, acting alone cannot. “How much are they going to pay you for acting, 50 million? It’s not possible, except they have a side hustle,” he said. He also suggested that some of these luxury items might be gifts, adding, “Yes now, dem fit gift person G-Wagon.”
This statement follows recent headlines about Solade’s claim that his life improved after he stopped attending church, sparking public conversation about his views on personal and professional matters.
