Nollywood veteran Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is set to make her directorial debut with "Mother's Love," a film exploring the complex relationship between mothers and daughters, a subject she feels is underrepresented in Nollywood. Speaking on Yanga FM, she highlighted the lack of authentic portrayals of this dynamic in the industry. The film is slated for release in 2026.

"We don’t have too many films that explore or showcase the relationship between mothers and daughters," Omotola stated during the interview, emphasizing the personal nature of the project. The film's narrative centers on Adebisi, a young woman from a wealthy family whose life is shaped by her father's control. Her journey of self-discovery begins during her NYSC service, where she forms a friendship that challenges her family's expectations.

"Mother's Love" also stars Ifeanyi Kalu, Olumide Oworu, and Noray Nehita. Beyond the film itself, Omotola addressed the increasing pressure on filmmakers to create viral content for marketing, calling the expectation "exhausting" and "unnatural." While acknowledging the shift social media has brought, she expressed her boundaries.
