Nigerian singer, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, is facing backlash online after a 2012 tweet in which she appeared to sexualise a four-year-old boy resurfaced on social media.
In the now-viral post shared via her X handle, @SympLySimi, on March 14, 2012, the singer described a four-year-old boy named David as having a crush on her and acting as though he wanted to kiss her.
The tweet read: “David has a crush on me. He kips comn close; actin lik he wana lock lips n den he puts his head on my lap. Shd I giv him a chance? P.S: Hes 4.”

The resurfaced tweet has sparked outrage among users on X, with many questioning the appropriateness of the comment.
The development comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding TikToker Mirabel’s admission that her widely circulated rape allegation was false.
Simi had earlier weighed in on the issue via X, speaking against rape culture and urging men to hold one another accountable — comments that drew criticism from some users who accused her of ignoring the problem of false accusations.
The situation took a fresh turn after social media activist VeryDarkMan claimed he spoke with Mirabel, who allegedly admitted the rape claim was fabricated and that she created a fake TikTok account linked to the incident.
