Nigerian actress Peggy Ovire has confirmed that her marriage to fellow actor Frederick Leonard has officially come to an end, weeks after she publicly accused him of infidelity.

Ovire announced the development through her social media posts, celebrating what appeared to be the conclusion of the divorce process.

The actress shared a message from a friend on her Instagram Story which read, “Thank You Jesus. My queen is free,” before posting another message saying, “Thank You Jesus. It is done.”

She also shared a video on Snapchat with the caption, “Miss Peggy Ovire,” suggesting she had returned to using her maiden identity following the conclusion of the marriage.

The confirmation comes weeks after Ovire made allegations against Leonard, accusing him of having an affair with a married woman.

She had also called on the actor to appear in court to complete the dissolution of their marriage, claiming that although Leonard initiated the divorce proceedings, he failed to attend previous court appearances and instead sent his lawyer.

Ovire had urged him to appear at the next hearing scheduled for June 23, saying she wanted the process completed officially.

“Please don’t avoid coming to customary court June 23rd, for the second time,” she wrote in a previous social media post.

She also accused Leonard of denying her claims through a blogger after receiving details of her petition, while insisting that she had evidence to support her allegations.

The actress and Leonard made their relationship public in 2022 before tying the knot later that year in a ceremony attended by family, friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Their marriage, however, later became the subject of public attention following allegations of marital issues and infidelity.

With Ovire’s latest posts, the actress appears to have confirmed that the legal process has been completed, bringing an end to their relationship.
