Here is a list of 10 entertainers with the National Honours Award:

1. 2Baba (MON)

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari awarded Nigerian legendary Singer, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Face, with the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) honour. Tubaba is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's greatest musicians of all time. His songs remained relevant in Nigeria’s music industry for over a decade, some of his hit songs are SMILE, IF LOVE IS A CRIME, MAD OVER HILLS, BEBE AND MORE.

2. Burna Boy (MFR)

Also on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 President Muhammadu Buhari awarded Nigeria’s Afrobeat Grammy Award winner, Damini Ogulu, alias Burna Boy, a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) honor for his achievements in music. Burna Boy is an international sensation and he relates to a vast majority of other cultures. In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked him number 197 on its list of the 200 greatest singers of all time. Some of his songs are Mera na, different size, aboboyaa, common person, and more.

3. Teni (MON)

Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata, also received a national award adding to the feathers on her cap. she was named a Member of the Order by President Muhammadu Buhari. Although, there was controversy on social media about her approach to receiving the award. Some of teni’s hit songs are Case, uyo meyo, askamaya and more.

4. Mosunmola Abudu (Mo Abudu) (OON)

Popular filmmaker and the Chief Executive Officer of EbonyLife Films, Mosunmola Abudu, aka Mo Abudu, was also awarded with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Muhammad buhari. She has been described by Forbes as "Africa's Most Successful Woman. She has produced several movies and tv series such as Fifty, wedding party, oloture and more.

5. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde (MFR)

In 2014, Popular actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde received the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) honour from former President Goodluck Jonathan in recognition of her achievements in the Nigerian film industry. she was included in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.She is referred to as African queen of movies. She has acted in leading roles and featured in several movies such as, phone swap, alter ego and more

6 Joke Silva (MFR)

Actor Joke Silva, was also honored in 2014 when former President Goodluck Jonathan named her a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR). She has played incredible roles in movies at home and even on the international scene. 

7. Genevieve Nnaji (MFR)

In 2011, Multiple award-winning actress Genevieve Nnaji received the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) honour from former president Goodluck Jonathan for her contributions to Nollywood. oct 2011 she was listed by Forbes as one of the 40 most powerful celebrities in Africa. she has palyed leading roles and featured in several movies. Her directorial debut movie, Lionheart, is the first Netflix film from Nigeria and the first Nigerian submission for the Oscars.

Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari conferred 339 noteworthy Nigerians with national awards as he exits his office.

The list includes three Nigerian filmmakers – Kunle Afolayan, Charles Opaleke and Ayodeji Richard Makun, better known as A.Y.

Kunle Afolayan,(OON

Afolayan is one of the biggest filmmakers in Nollywood with several award winning movies including Figurine, October 1, and Anikulapo, which recently won the Best Overall Movie at the ninth edition of the 023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA). He was awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) for his contributions to the country's development

Charles Opaleke(OON)  

Okpaleke, a film producer. His impressive catalogue includes Living in Bondage: Breaking Free,  received seven AMVCAs. He is also the founder of Play Network Africa. He was also awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) for his contributions to the country's development

Ayodeji Richard Makun(OON)

Ayodeji Richard Makun, better known as A.Y. stands out as one of the biggest names in the comedy and filmmaking industry. His movies are some of highest grossing Nollywood films at the box office. He was been awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) for his contributions to the country's development
