Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has moved to the top of the Player of the Match standings in the UEFA Champions League following a string of outstanding performances for Galatasaray S.K. this season.
According to a post shared on UEFA’s official X handle on Tuesday, the Super Eagles forward currently leads the chart with four Man of the Match awards — the highest by any player in the competition so far.
Osimhen earned his latest award after a standout performance against Juventus F.C., where he scored a crucial goal that helped Galatasaray seal a dramatic 7–5 aggregate victory and book a place in the round of 16.
The Nigerian forward has been in electric form in the competition, scoring seven goals in eight Champions League appearances this season.
His pace, aerial power and relentless pressing have been key to Galatasaray’s impressive run in Europe.
The 27-year-old now sits ahead of several elite stars in the standings, including Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent transfer from S.S.C. Napoli last summer, and the Turkish champions are already enjoying the rewards of their investment, with the Nigerian spearheading their push in Europe.
With the knockout stages now underway, Osimhen will be hoping to maintain his scoring form as Galatasaray aim to go deeper in the Champions League.
