Veteran Hollywood actor Harris Yulin is dead

Renowned American actor Harris Yulin has passed away. The veteran star died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday, June 10, in New York City. He was 87 years old.

Yulin was widely respected for his work on stage and in film. His family described him as a passionate actor dedicated to his craft. "He cared deeply about acting. His performances touched audiences, fellow actors, and the art form itself,” a family statement read. They also revealed his love for birdwatching and the sea.

Harris Yulin’s acting career spanned decades. He was best known for roles in Scarface (1983), Ghostbusters II (1989), and Looking for Richard (1996). He earned an Emmy nomination for his guest appearance on Frasier in 1996 and was part of the Ozark cast that received a Screen Actors Guild nomination in 2019. He also appeared in hit shows like Veep, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and And Just Like That…

Yulin was once married to actress Gwen Welles until her death in 1993. He also had a relationship with actress Faye Dunaway, his co-star in the 1971 film Doc. His daughter, actress Claire Lucido, passed away before him. He is survived by his second wife Kristen Lowman, son-in-law Ted Mineo, nephew Martin Crane, and godchildren Marco and Lara Greenberg.

Remarkably, Yulin was preparing to begin filming a new series titled American Classic with MGM+, starring alongside Kevin Kline, Laura Linney, and Jon Tenney. “He was excited to reunite with director Michael Hoffman,” his family shared. “He went out swinging.”

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
