Looks like Akon’s futuristic “Wakanda City” dream has hit a serious reality check . After years of hype, concept videos, and crypto promises, the Senegalese government has officially pulled the plug on the much-publicized $6 billion megacity project — and the reason? Deadline don pass, money no show!

The city, which Akon once described as a real-life “Black Panther” utopia powered by solar energy and its own cryptocurrency, was supposed to turn Senegal into the Silicon Valley of Africa. Instead? The only thing rising was the dust.

Government officials say Akon and his team failed to deliver on timelines, and the land allocated for the city is being reclaimed — not for another tech hub, but for a cheaper $1.2 billion state-backed coastal resort project. Yes o, they’ve gone from Wakanda to weekend getaway
