Brazilian football star Neymar has reportedly been named the heir to a huge £846 million fortune — left to him by a billionaire he never knew.
According to Brazilian outlet RIC, the businessman, believed to be from Porto Alegre, signed his will on June 12 in the presence of two witnesses. Shockingly, he made Neymar the sole beneficiary of his entire estate.
The man, who was single and had no children, is said to have admired Neymar’s strong bond with his father, Neymar Sr. This connection reportedly reminded him of his own late father.
Neymar, 33, has not commented on the reports. The inheritance is still awaiting confirmation from Brazilian courts, but if approved, it would rank as one of the most unusual stories in world sport.
The forward recently returned to his boyhood club Santos after an injury-troubled spell with Saudi side Al-Hilal. He has already scored three goals in 14 matches since his comeback.
In June, Neymar signed a new deal with Santos, calling the club his “home” and vowing to chase unfinished dreams in his career.
Now, while he works to revive his football journey, Neymar could soon see his off-field wealth skyrocket — thanks to a billionaire stranger who chose him as family.
