Former Ghanaian football star, Asamoah Gyan, has named Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Morocco as the top teams likely to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco this December.
Gyan made the comments during the CAF Awards ceremony in Morocco on Wednesday night.
He expressed disappointment that Ghana failed to qualify for AFCON 2025 but said he was pleased the team still secured a place at the World Cup.
Commenting on Nigeria, Gyan said the Super Eagles showed their strength in the last AFCON in Ivory Coast, where they reached the final but lost 2-1 to the hosts, Ivory Coast.
He also praised Ivory Coast for their previous victory and described Morocco as another strong contender in the upcoming tournament.
According to Gyan, these three countries—Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Morocco—have the best chance of lifting the trophy in December.
