Arsenal’s big summer signing is complete, but Mikel Arteta says the club may still make more moves before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners have secured Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP in a £63.5m deal after a two-month pursuit. The Swedish striker was presented to fans ahead of their pre-season game against Newcastle, showing Arsenal’s intent for the new campaign.

Gyökeres joins a list of new arrivals that includes Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Nørgaard. Under new sporting director Andrea Berta, Arsenal’s summer spending has already gone past £200m.

However, Arteta says the club remains open to more signings.
“Let’s see. The market is still going on and we’ll have to balance the squad as well. I think we’ll be open to see what happens,” he told reporters.

Reports suggest Arsenal are preparing a £60m offer for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, who is interested in joining. But the club may need to sell players first, as they have only raised £7m so far from departures, including Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos.

Arteta praised the club’s transfer work so far:
“To identify talent is one thing; delivering is another. The club has done incredibly well. Andrea and his team have been fantastic. So early in the window, we already have the reinforcements we wanted.”
