Nigerian singer, actor, and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy in Washington, D.C.

Banky W’s decision to pursue further education came after his 2023 bid for a seat in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, where he ran for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency but did not win. He expressed a desire to enhance his competence in public policy to better serve in future leadership roles.
In September 2024, he relocated to the U.S. with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, and their child to begin his studies. This academic pursuit adds to his multifaceted career, which spans music, film, and politics.
